La nueva tecnología de Amazon que permite hacer pagos con la palma de la mano empezó a aplicarse este miércoles en un supermercado Whole Foods de la ciudad estadounidense de Seattle, en el estado de Washington, informa AP.
En los próximos meses podrá usarse también en otras siete tiendas de la cadena en dicha ciudad.
Para comenzar a usar esa tecnología, llamada Amazon One, la persona debe primero registrarse, con lo cual su palma será escaneada y vinculada con su tarjeta de crédito o cuenta de Amazon. Desde la empresa prometieron que todo el proceso tomará menos de un minuto.
Después de eso, el cliente solo tendrá que acercar la palma al escáner de una caja de la tienda para pagar.
La introducción de esta novedosa opción ha suscitado preocupaciones respecto al riesgo de hackeo y robo de información privada.
Amazon afirma, sin embargo, que las imágenes de las palmas se guardarán en un sitio seguro de su nube y que cada cliente puede solicitar en cualquier momento que sus datos sean borrados.
