Este viernes entró en vigor la obligación de que todos los trabajadores de Italia, sin excepción, muestren un “pase verde” o “pase sanitario” de Covid-19 expedido por el gobierno, lo que generó una ola de protestas desde hace ya más de una semana y temores de interrupción en la producción.
Todo trabajador -en el sector público o privado- debe tener un “pase verde” con un código QR para certificar que esté totalmente vacunado, de que se ha recuperado recientemente de la infección o de que ha dado negativo en un test en las 48 horas anteriores.
Los empleados que vayan a trabajar sin el pase se arriesgan a una multa de hasta 1.500 euros (US$ 1.730) y a una suspensión sin sueldo. Los empleadores también podrían enfrentarse a multas si permiten que el personal trabaje sin el “pase verde”.
Este viernes por la tarde hubo una protesta contra la exigencia del “pase verde” en el Circo Máximo de Roma. También una huelga en el puerto de Trieste, en el norte del país.
En la concentración la policía reprimió con fuerza la protesta, que terminó con 38 policías heridos, y 12 personas detenidas. Algunos manifestantes llegaron a irrumpir en la sede del mayor sindicato del país, la Confederación General Italiana del Trabajo (CGIL).
“No estamos aquí para hacer violencia ni nada de eso, estamos aquí porque nos están quitando nuestros derechos y ya no podemos ni ir a trabajar”, dijo Elena Campisi, manifestante romana.
Desde el 1 de septiembre se exige el certificado en los trenes de larga distancia y en los locales cerrados, como restaurantes, museos y gimnasios.
“El ‘pase verde’ es algo malo, es una discriminación según la ley. Nada más. No es una regulación sanitaria, es sólo una maniobra política para crear división entre la gente”, afirmó Fabio Bocin, un trabajador portuario de 59 años en Trieste.
El gabinete del primer ministro Mario Draghi aprobó la norma -una de las medidas contra el covid-19 más estrictas del mundo- a mediados de septiembre.
Alrededor del 15% de los trabajadores del sector privado y el 8% del público no tienen “pase verde”, según un documento interno del gobierno de Italia visto por Reuters y rechazan la vacunación.
El gobierno esperaba que la medida de hacer obligatoria la tarjeta sanitaria convenciera a los italianos no vacunados para que cambiaran de opinión, pero ese aumento no se ha materializado.
